Deceivers Yet True refers to The Family International's controversial belief that it is right to lie to non-members (or "unbelievers") in order to protect God's work. This belief is currently taught and practiced by members of the cult. It is derived from the Bible verse II Corinthians 6:8 (KJV):

By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

A comic magazine addressing this doctrine was published internally to educate Family children about the need to protect their families by lying to unbelievers if needed. This publication was a response by The Family International to inquiries by law enforcement and social workers about allegations of child abuse within the group. Among other dramatized Bible stories, Protecting Baby Moses portrays parental delight and approval when young Aaron lies to an egyptian soldier in order to save his baby brother, Moses.

At the comic's conclusion, children are admonished not to lie to parents or group elders.
