John Lincoln Brandt

Dr. Rev. John Lincoln Brandt (26 October 1860 – 1946) is the grandfather of David Berg and father of Virginia Lee Brandt. He was the son of Isaac Brandt and Elizabeth Lufbury (married 12 November 1839).[1] He is of German Jewish origin. The Brandt family moved to America around 1750 and settled in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He married Nina Lee Marquis.

Brandt was a leader in the Alexander Campbell movement of the Disciples of Christ.

David Berg wrote of his grandfather:

"I admired him greatly; he was a real hero to me. He was a truly great man who really loved the Lord and survived many vicissitudes of life. He had a great history and a great record.
