A channel in Family terminology is used to describe two things:
- A person giving a prophecy or acting as a mouthpiece for a spiritual being.
- The spritual medium of communication between a spritual being and the individual giving the prophecy.
When a person allows their own thoughts or opinions to affect the wording of a prophecy, his or her channel is said to be tainted. Family members believe that in order to maintain a clear channel they must faithfully study the new wine and avoid doubts and other perceived negative influences.
