Selling tapes, most often from door to door in residential neighborhoods or apartment buildings, but sometimes in offices or commercial centers. The Family produced music tapes for children and adults, as well as inspirational/devotional tapes, for this purpose. They were even known informally as "door-to-door" tapes, despite the fact that they were often listened to and enjoyed by Family members.

While the donations received for posters varied widely, the price at which tapes were sold was typically fixed, as the cost to produce them was borne by the members, who were required to purchase the tapes from World Services. In a sense, World Services would wholesale the tapes to rank-and-file membership, who would then retail them to "the sheep".
